CSA is short for community-supported agriculture, a growing trend. Essentially, you link up with a local farm and subscribe to a season of weekly shares locally-grown produce or other goods.
2008 was my first season with a CSA, and it was a learning experience for me and my family.
CSA participation is a fabulous way to go green and an interesting alternative to farmers markets. Some are beginning to offer "winter season" or "early spring" options as well.
You can find CSAs in Indianapolis and Bloomington here, or find a CSA program near you at localharvest.org.
